The County Assessor has the responsibility to appraise and assess real and personal property within the County for the purpose of ad valorem taxation. The assessor is responsible for determining valuations based on current market values. The actual tax amount is determined by the voters.

The revenue from ad valorem taxes supports local schools, law enforcement, health departments, technology centers and local government.

Homestead Exemption, Additional Homestead Exemption, Senior Valuation Freeze, and 100% Veterans Exemption are ways to reduce your ad valorem taxes. Please contact our office for more information.
